Questions here address pets, ATVs, method of payment, check-in and out times, tents, cleaning/damage deposit, reservation deposit, cancellation policy, swimming and boating restrictions, and fishing.  Please contact us with any others questions you may have.  We would very much like to hear from you.

 Are pets allowed?

Except for seeing eye dogs, LARGE DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED.  Well-mannered, small pets weighing under 10 pounds are allowed.  However, pets are never allowed to roam free and must be kept on a leash.  Also, pets should do their business behind the cabins.  Owners are  totally responsible for cleaning up after the pet.  Owners are also totally responsible for their pet's behavior, including any damage the pet may cause.

Do you accept credit cards?

We only accept cash, checks (with proper ID), or money orders at this time.

Can I bring my ATV?

No,  ATVs are not allowed.  We are a working ranch with cattle and abundant wildlife which we do not want to disturb.

When is check-in time and check-out time?

Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at noon.   If these times present a hardship, please contact us.  Depending on our reservation commitments, we may be able to adjust those times.

Can we bring tents?

Yes, but be careful where you set your tent up and watch out for fire ants.  If you bring a tent, you might want to bring ant poison.

Is there a cleaning/damage deposit?

Yes.  A deposit of $100 is charged for the Main Campground when you arrive.  The Retreat House deposit is $50.   Families who have been coming for several years, and who understand the requirements, can have this deposit waived.

To have the Main Campground cleaning/damage deposit refunded, the kitchen and dining hall areas must be left clean and orderly.  Dishes must be washed and put away.  Countertops and table surfaces must be cleaned.  All rooms in the main Dining Hall/Kitchen building, including the adjacent porch and inside restroom,  must be completely swept and mopped.  Trash should be collected from all areas, including the cabins, and placed in the dumpsters.   Sports equipment should be put away, and the grounds should be free of litter.  It is not necessary to remove sheets nor clean the cabins, except for taking out the trash.

Is a deposit necessary to hold our reservation?

Yes.  A deposit is required at the time the reservation is made.  For the Retreat House, the amount of the deposit is one night's stay.  For the Main Campground, the deposit is $250 for new groups.  For returning groups, the Main Campground deposit is $100.

If we cancel our reservation, is our deposit refundable?

If paid by check or cash, cancellations made within 48 hours of making the reservation are fully refundable.  If paid by any other means, a 10% handling fee will be deducted.

Main Campground:   If the 48 hours has passed and you notify us by September 30, we will refund half the deposit.  After September 30, the deposit in not refundable.   We understand situations can arise that will cause cancellations, and we sincerely appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible since most of our groups require months to plan reunions.

Retreat House:  If the 48 hours has passed and you notify us at least 4 weeks before your reservation, we will refund half the deposit.  If the cancellation occurs within 4 weeks of your reservation, the deposit is not refundable.

Can we swim in the lake?

No, sorry.  There are many submerged large rocks which makes this too dangerous.

What water crafts are allowed on the lake?

You may bring kayaks or canoes if proper safety procedures are followed (PFDs on each individual, etc.).  Power boats and sea-doos  are not allowed.   Paddle boats are available for rent.  With large submerged rocks in the lake, safety is paramount.  We are not responsible for accidents.

Do I need a fishing license?

Fishing in our lake does not require a license because it is private property.  However, if you fish in the Pecan Bayou, you'll need a Texas fishing license.

Can we keep the fish we catch in the lake?

We are currently striving to increase the size and amount of bass and perch in the lake, so we have implemented a "catch and release" policy for the present time.  Trot lines are never allowed.

Are medical facilities available?

There are no medical facilities on the ranch.

The nearest major medical center is Brownwood Regional Medical Center.  It offers 24-hour emergency services.  It is located at 1501 Burnet Drive in Brownwood, Texas.  The phone is 325/646-8541.  It is about 35 miles from the ranch.

Will my cell phone have service on the ranch?

Probably not.  Geographically, a hill blocks most signals.
